Churchill and Blakedown Golf Club is continuing on its mission to be the finest nine hole course in the Midlands by becoming home to the Angus Hoare Golf Academy.

There was a great turnout of members on Saturday to welcome Angus and his assistant Phil Lathwood at the official opening of the refurbished pro shop and state-of-the-art indoor, air-conditioned teaching studio.

The Club has made a substantial investment in the shop and studio where PGA Advanced Teaching professional Angus uses three-camera video recording as well as the latest launch and ball tracking software to provide a teaching experience that matches the Club’s upward progress.

Angus offers tuition tailored to golfers of all abilities as well as providing coaching to county junior squads. As well as helping individual golfers with closely tailored coaching, Angus runs a series of successful and popular group lessons for ladies and seniors.

Head of Membership and Development at the club, Peter Perry, said: “Angus and Phil are wonderful additions to the Club. Both of them are hugely respected and popular in local golf and come to us with a great reputation and following. Without doubt we now offer the very best teaching environment – spacious, comfortable and away from the wind and rain – though the simulator will add that too if required!”
