Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club claimed another first this weekend. This time with their version of the Masters which followed the great success of the Club’s inaugural Ryder Cup last year. There was a difference to the more famous Masters, as at Churchill & Blakedown it was played as pairs, both to count.
It proved to be a tough format but was supported by over 60 players, from all sections of the Club. The pairings had previously been randomly drawn and consisted of a low and high handicapper. The weather was set fair and all competitors had a most enjoyable day.
The top ten were announced at Saturday’s fully attended presentation dinner and the winners were Adrian Aston and Dave Waldron. As was appropriate, they were both presented with green jackets by the Club Captain, Chris Lea, and the Club President, Chris Palin.
