Julie Kelly and Jayne Wilkinson proved model golfers both on and off the course as they won the inaugural Ladies Fashion Open at Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club.

The duo carded 20 points in the 9-hole pairs betterball event to win by one point from Val Sherman and Pauline Perry.

The talented twosome then hit the clubhouse catwalk to parade the latest golf fashions from Glenmuir and Sunderland in front of their fellow competitors.

Phil Lathwood (pictured with the winning ladies) from the PGA professional team at Churchill & Blakedown hosted the event with a Glenmuir representative talking the ladies through the designs that will be hitting the fairways this summer.

More than 40 ladies took part in the Open and a great day was had by all.

“It was a big success both on and off the course and was a great way for the ladies section to start the season in style,” said Phil.

“Golf fashion is constantly changing so it was good to showcase the latest trends to both members and visitors.”
