Churchill and Blakedown recently hosted a match played between Worcestershire Past Captains and Devon Past Captains.  A match play format between sixteen players from each side saw a closely fought battle.  These matches between the counties are always played in a friendly spirit with the emphasis on enjoyment all round.  However, for the record Worcestershire shaved a win.

Devon’s Captain, Bob Webber, was fulsome in his praise of the course and particularly the quality of the greens.  He closed his speech by praising the catering, making especial reference to the chips, describing them as the finest he had ever tasted.

All in all a great day was enjoyed by everyone and the Worcestershire players look forward to renewing friendships when they travel to Devon next year.
