A note from our Club Captain
I am very proud and privileged to be Captain of Churchill & Blakedown Golf Club.
The Club, formed in 1926, has served the local community for 90 years and, in that time, it has undergone steady development. 2016 has been a major milestone for the Club with the introduction of a full time PGA team and a comprehensively fitted swing studio. Angus Hoare, the Head Coach, is one of the County’s most respected professionals and it is an absolute pleasure to work with him and his team. .
The course is a 9 hole track, mostly played as an 18 hole, but separate tees and additional greens means the back 9 is different. Don’t be fooled into thinking it is an easy course as it measures 6510 yards off the white tees with a par of 72. The course is in excellent condition throughout the year, the sandstone base allows it to drain quickly and play is seldom interrupted. The Greens Team continually look at ways of improving the golfer’s experience, whether by keeping the greens in immaculate condition or maintaining the rough. All this is done with the intention of making the course a tough but fair test of golf.
Our catering is well renowned for its hospitality and quality of food. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly welcome along with the incredible views from the patio make snacking or dining at the Club a memorable experience.
We look forward to welcoming you and if you see me around the club please say hello, if I don’t first!

I have really appreciated the warm welcome I have received from everyone at Churchill and Blakedown Golf Club. Having only recently taken the game up, the members have put me at ease with many of them asking me to play a round with them, which enabled me to gain my handicap. I also recently attended a Valentine’s evening with my husband and it was tremendous fun. I am really looking forward to many years of enjoyment at the Club.
First impressions may be deceitful with our 9 hole course. Offering a challenge to all golfing ability levels, this course should not be underestimated.
