Member, Lynne Andreae, said “It started when I was approached for fabric to make scrubs by a tennis friend and decided to ask my Bridgnorth paediatric if she needed any. Since it’s a children’s ward we decided child friendly fabric would be fun . The consultants wore the new scrubs and have received lots of positive comments. Hospitals are scary for adults let alone children and if barriers can be relaxed through “fashion scrubs “it really helps.
Other ladies have added their help and Anne Lowe wizzed into action and says her seamstress prowess is “better than her golf“. Nicola Stanley is sewing her first top . NHS Shropshire are after scrubs with specific navy fabric. Currently, the ladies are waiting for supplies before production starts to make 40 sets supporting local hospitals (Telford , Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow plus many more). Other ladies, notably Val Sherman, are also busy making whatever items are needed, the last lot going to the QE.
Well done ladies.
