Even though the numbers were small it was no less fun or competitive at last Sunday's Rabbits and Tigers.

Just a reminder this competition has been running since January 1949, as can be seen from the photo of the start sheet back then, Tigers were triumphant with a 5/1 win, no mention of starting one down or any other spurious rule!

This is a fun competition and has obviously evolved over the years, your Committee are committed to continuing this tradition and would like some feedback as to why numbers have dropped of in recent years. Please pass your thoughts on to either the Captain,Pete Cash, The Vice Captain Paul Innes or Hon Sec Bob Julier.

Last weekends match was keenly contested with some remarkable play from both sides. Starting with at 1 hole up, and the team without the honour choosing to play of any tee at the next hole! the Rabbits came out victorious with a 7 1/2--1 1/2 victory.

Hi everyone hope that you all have enjoyed your golf in 2024 and was happy with the course.
My first full calendar year is almost over and looking forward to what 2025 brings. This year has brought many challenges with staffing levels, weather, machinery but I am very happy with how the course has looked and played. Want to take this opportunity to thank the club for supporting me during 2024 especially with the upgrade of new machinery.
During the past few weeks, I have begun the project on the 4TH/13TH hole. New matts have gone down at the back of the middle tee with a new path. The tree and steps have gone, and a small set of steps put into the start of the bank for anyone that has hit a small shot. The path has been widened on the right to allow buggies and will be topped up with path material in the coming weeks. The Approach has been extended to give more of a landing area and the bunker has been filled in which will be turfed in the coming days. A new bunker has been designed with an astro turf liner inserted to stop contamination and the bunker edge has been revetted. The area around the bunker has been turfed and China Clay Sand will be added and left to settle. New steps will be added to the bank of the green at the back for anyone that does go left of the green.
A green mesh will be laid over the turf on the left-hand side while the turf beds in to allow buggies and trolleys that do go that way BUT please try and use the right-hand path and steps at the back of the green as much as possible. As soon as the turf is knitted in the green mesh will be lifted and will be able to play off the area. I am hoping to have the area in play end of January/February time depend on weather and if turf has rooted enough.
Up to Christmas we will be looking at inserting the new mat on the 2nd hole, making a new double practice bay and moving signs into a new sleeper base on tees and new steps up to the putting green from the pro shop. We will also be keeping the course the best it can by collecting leaves, cutting, aeration and spraying.
With how mild and wet the autumn has been we have unfortunately been hit with fusarium, as most of the products have been taken off the shelves, we are left with only a few that do not always work. Over the coming months and into the spring we will look to repair any scars that have been left.
