The Cobham Cup is competed for every year between the Club’s B Team and Hagley. Two meetings take place at home and away.
Following the first match at Churchill & Blakedown the Club were defending a healthy 3 point lead having won by 4.5 to 1.5. The first two results in at Hagley were home wins which narrowed the lead but the remaining matches were won or halved to square the match so the cup came back to the Club by an overall score of 7.5 to 3.5.
One notable achievement should be recorded on Hagley’s 15th hole, a mostly uphill par 5 of over 550 yards and aptly named the Monster. This hole saw a birdie from C&B’s Joe Wier after he reached the green in two shots. Great ball striking Joe.
