Droitwich Inter-Club League Final - a first for the ladies of Churchill & Blakedown.
The early rounds of the DICL are played as a round robin and this year our team won their division with four wins and one loss to progress to the semi-final knockout stage.
In the semis at Hollywood they produced a convincing 5 - 0 win against Burghill Valley. And so confidence was high when the team went to the final at Ombersley against Worcester Golf and Country Club. Our Club Captain, Chris Howles, was there to cheer them on and to wish the players well as they teed off.
It was a closely contested match against a team of experienced golfers but sadly the result was a 3 - 2 win for Worcester. The ladies didn’t come away empty handed as the runners up salver will soon be gracing our trophy cabinet.
We can be proud of all the ladies who played in the matches with special thanks to Jane Stroud who organised the team throughout.
