Glorious! In other words, it was a beautiful, sunny Thursday for our Lady Captain’s Day and glorious the day was, in every way. From teeing off on the 1st to finishing the last of the afternoon tea, it could not have been better.
The fabulous condition of the course brought in some great scores for both the 18-hole medal and 9-hole stableford, as reflected by the worthy winners. They were as follows:
In the medal, 1st – winner of the trophy – Sue Woolaway, 2nd – Pauline Hadfield, 3rd – Tracey Billingham, 4th – Vanessa Williams and 5th – Julie Kelly.
Best front 9 was Jackie Harvey and best back 9, Tracey Evans.
Karen Thorpe won the 9 hole, closely followed by Liz Perry.
Nearest the pin was Sue Bradley.
Finally, the longest drive was a photo finish between Angela Strangward and Vanessa Williams, this was declared a tie so both won a prize. Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to everyone who entered the competitions. Thanks also to all the ladies who attended for the afternoon tea and presentations on this special occasion, it made for a fabulous celebration for the wonderful world of golf.
