Elliott Toman, our Junior Team Captain, qualified for the Robert Rock St Andrews Links Under 18 Championships final at Fairmont St. Andrews some time ago.
The final has just been held and after two rounds Elliot was joint leader.
His father James takes up the story.
Elliott was joint leader going in to the final round. He said it was the best front 9 of golf he had ever played. He had a disastrous 15th to fall one behind his playing partner and then he bogeyed 16 to fall 2 behind , 17th - 200 yard par 3 left to right wind off the sea he hit a 5 iron to 30ft the now leader put it in the pothole bunker just short of the green and had to play out sideways could only make a 5 , Elliott's put up the hill right to left - holes it, 1 in front. Both lads made solid par 5s up the last enabling Elliott to win.

Club Professional, Angus Hoare added how proud he was of Elliott’s performance in Scotland, showing real maturity in the third round and pulling his round together.
He continued, “ I have coached Elliott over a number of years now and he just gets better and better. His dedication and hard work has always been exemplary. Club Members will be pleased to know that they will be seeing a lot of more of Elliott as he is starting an Apprenticeship in the shop in Retail on the 5th September. He will be trained by me so, it goes without saying, you will need to get your wallets ready.”
