Here’s the good news. Golf is a fantastic and enjoyable sport to play.
Here’s some even better news – golf brings with it a host of health and mental well-being benefits not to mention the social side of being part of a community with regular competitions, events and get-togethers.
And just when you might have thought that was all the good news then hang fire because there is more – golf is also one of the few sports that you can take up at any age.
Churchill & Blakedown has members aged 6 to 90 plus – at Churchill & Blakedown we like to think you are only as old as the club you swing so age really is just a number.
The NHS
recommends that all adults aged 19 to 64 should aim to achieve 150 minutes of
aerobic exercise a week.
If you play three 9-hole rounds at Churchill & Blakedown that’s getting on for 400 minutes – and it’s all great fun played out in one of the most picturesque settings in the Midlands.
Research shows
that playing golf regularly is associated with longevity and reducing the risk
factors for heart disease/stroke. And it can boost older people’s strength and
balance.
The sport is also associated with good mental health and improving the overall health of those with disabilities.
Golf really is a
great way of keeping you fit, healthy and happy. If you would like to do that at
Churchill & Blakedown you can find out about starter sessions, membership
options and more by emailing angus@candbgolfshop.co.uk or
phone 01562 700454 and speak to head PGA professional Angus Hoare or
alternatively Bev or Bob in the office on 01562 700018.
Go on! What are you waiting for? We’d love to hear from you.
