The latest new members’ evening was held last week and it saw a packed club house. The Captain warmly welcomed all our new members and all present enjoyed the food, drink and camaraderie.

Many new members had joined us following the sad demise of Habberley Golf Club and their Captain, Stephen Wood, made the delightful gesture of presenting Churchill and Blakedown Golf Club with Habberley’s major trophy that was first played for in 1938. It was readily agreed that this would be a fine way to continue the Habberly name and the trophy will be contested each year, becoming a new board trophy event.  The inaugural medal competition, Habberley Challenge Cup, will be held this year on 24/25 June.
