An array of talented youngsters teed up at the weekend for Churchill & Blakedown’s Junior Open.  Juna Amin proved the pick of the bunch with a four under par nett 32.  Juna, from Worcester Golf & Country Club, finished ahead of Churchill’s Olivia Williams with Stourbridge’s Jack Belli in third.

With 15 juniors from clubs across the county teeing up in the 9-hole event, it was more positive exposure for the Club with parents commenting on the friendly welcome and impressive views.

The Club is working hard to grow its junior section with the PGA pro team of Angus Hoare and Phil Lathwood running sessions every weekend.  This includes the Golf Foundation Junior Passport Scheme which is run in five week blocks on Fridays at 5pm (juniors must register), while juniors can just turn up on Saturday and Sunday afternoons for roll-up sessions with Angus.
